Long Island Energy Conference Fuels Hope for Renewables

“Long Island is taking a leading role in the burgeoning renewable energy industry in what may be the biggest business development since… Grumman Corporation built the Lunar Module … to put the first men on the Moon in 1969.”

Our team attended the Long Island Energy Conference, in an audience of over 100 important Long Island energy and industry professionals.

“When we talk about the energy transition, we always talk about not leaving anyone behind,” Rudy Wynter, president of National Grid, told the Press. “We have to make sure the workforce is ready for that transition, and make sure our customers are ready for that transition.

“I’m working on other renewable energies like green hydrogen, which is very important,” State Sen. Mario Mattera, the ranking member on the senate energy and telecommunications committee, said.

Closing remarks were given by our friend Sammy Chu, CEO of Edgewise Energy a commercial energy solutions company. “My biggest hope is that we all continue to work together,” Chu told the Press. “We need to make sure that we understand that we’re all invested in this, that everyone has something to contribute to this, and that we continue to do the work because it’s gonna take all of us to get there.”

"What we're looking for is not just [producing Evolve™] but also being able to install it, produce our component parts here and start to make a bulk green hydrogen industry. It's going to mean a lot more jobs - jobs to integrate with offshore wind...jobs to package the hydrogen in hydride, which is one of our partners, to ship to Europe or use here in the states... jobs for people coming out of colleges to improve the technology... workers to assemble Evolve™ units... jobs to underserved communities because the devices are simple to put together, union jobs: electricians, plumbers, gasfitters...AI professionals, IT professionals... thousands of jobs for Long Island. ...We've got a few groups in the Cayuga region focused on the same thing...
I'd like to see it produced here on Long Island as well because we use seawater, along with the offshore wind producing its power... a definite advantage in making inexpensive hydrogen..."

EVOLVE at Long Island Energy Conference: The future of sustainability and affordable energy.
